Experience

During my time at MIT Design Lab, I contributed with research and experience in the projects mainly as computational designer, my main project was “Adaptive Dynamics”, an industry sponsored project with PUMA Innovation. I worked with multidisciplinary and international teams of engineers, designers, researchers, and architects.

I contributed by conducting advance FEM simulations, digital fabrication, and prototyping. In which one of my biggest achievements was the re-development of a virtual design-simulation process that was created for fast design iterations of an auxetic based midsole.

The results of this collaboration with Puma will be released into a consumer product in a short time and will be also part of an upcoming exhibition at the Design Museum in London.

I think this experience helped me to gain confidence in my design and engineering skills, that make me competitive, adaptable and with fast response for any challenge faced. Also, my capability for problem solving and conceptualizing ideas within a teamwork environment makes me a good team player that could be adapted into several parts of the product developments, concept generation or innovation process.

Project involved

Adaptive dynamics

As part of the MIT Design Lab, I was involved in the project of Adaptive Dynamics. In which I helped in the development of the cushioning technology “XETIC” that received the name of Calibrate Runner.

In this project, I was in charge of the refinement of the finite element analysis part of the virtual design-simulation-prototyping, where I change the game by modifying from a 2D FEA simulation into a 3D simulation capable of analysis the full phenomena of the midsole giving better and more accurate results for its design and manufacturing.
